I second Bully Sticks!
Bully sticks and raw meaty bones.
Get him natural bones. They sell them at pet stores and most grocery stores too, in the pet aisle. Certain bones are softer than others and won’t last as long, so read the labels. And you have to monitor chewing with these as well, because pieces can be broken off, but odds are it will take him a LOT longer than the dentabone
If he has the bone for so long that it gets dried out (months) it should be tossed, because it can splinter and the sharp pieces can puncture his insides if swallowed.
Hooves are great too, they last a long time and are extremely hard to break (my boxers have never broken one), and they aren’t nearly as gross as the cooked natural bones. The bones are very greasy when you first buy them, but the dogs go nuts for em, and they’re usually "clean" within a few hours
Me three bully sticks or knuckle bones
You can go to your local grocer and get nice meat bones that they don’t need or use for anything, dogs love them and they’re good for them too.
use a natural beef bone. a real bone. rawhide is so very dangerous to dogs. it cannot be digested and it also can get stuck in the back of their throat and choke them to death or it can get tangled around their intestines. try real bones and see how he does with that.
nylabone is good as it is raw hide but your dog cannot eat it in the same way as raw hide it shaves off in small amounts so your dog will have time to digest it.
I will not feed my dog raw hide as it can cause death if a large piece is swallowed it can become stuck in the throat or turn into a mass in the gut which will cause excruciating death.
I would love to be able to give bones or knuckle bones to my dog but if you want to show your dog this will ruin their teeth as I will be showing my dog I give her pieces of boiled liver instead which I boil and cut up for her they love them and are extremely cheap to buy and also v good for them, and also please never give chicken bones to dogs raw or cooked as these are deadly.
