I do dehydrated treats for my dog. They can be super simple. Chop up raw chicken, fish, lean beef, venison, turkey, etc. and throw in the dehydrator until done. If you don’t have a dehydrator you can use the oven at about 170 degrees. Sometimes I puree sweet potato with the meat and dehydrate little blobs of the mixture. You could substitute pretty much whatever fruits or veggies you want.

The healthiest diet is a raw diet.

For treats, you can give your dog bits of apple or carrot, or bits of meat. I’m a fan of freeze-dried chicken bits; you can get them at most pet stores. They’re great because I can put them in my dog’s Kong or use them as training treats, and they aren’t messy like regular cooked or raw chicken would be.

Buy chicken livers for next to nothing from the grocery store. Place on rack that fits inside cookie sheet. Bake in oven at 170 degrees for five hours. Cut into small pieces. Very inexpensive; dogs love them; you know that there are no preservatives, food coloring or other additives.
