if they open one by me I will DEFINITELY shop there
Petco Unleashed is a lovely store, with premium pet foods.
The only premium food they do not carry is Taste of the Wild.
They have a nice selection of raw type food as well in their refrigerator section.
I have a Petco Unleashed near me and I shop there now and then.
They WILL PRICE MATCH on any pet food.
They also offer that when you buy ten bags of dog food the 11 bag is FREE
Also if you purchase 6 bags of dog food at one time they take off an additional 10%
I highly recommend this store.
I also want to add that my regular Petco carries food like Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Solid Gold and others, all of those considered premium.
for dog fd i only trust petco. i also trust wal-mart. but i sigjest u go to petco
My friend works at petsmart and even she says purina one is crap.. I only go in the store because she works there. i dont buy from the store bc i dont agree with alot of the animal mistreatment and abuse that they cause/support. They buy from animal warehouses that are like the holocaust for animals. its horrible. I believe theyre opening up unleashed just to try to get people off theyre backs bc holistic dog food is becoming popular fast. And if it wasnt petco i would possible stop in and see what its like. Either way its still petco, still a pig but with a little makeup
"I’m sure most of you agree the food they sell is crap"
Actually, I don’t agree. Blue Buffalo is very highly rated and looked on as a good dry kibble by the dog community in general. PetSmart and Petco both carry their products, although only PetSmart carries their grain free, and their limited ingredient line. PetSmart also carries Castor and Pollux and By Nature.
I think Petco’s prices are way too high, and to try to compete with the specialty natural pet stores is a huge mistake. They do not have a good enough market share to invest in a new venture without harming their financial stability. These stores, while it is nice that they sell premium foods, are doomed to failure.
So no, I would not buy from them. I have a specialty store in my town that I frequent if I need anything over the top, and a PetSmart to buy my Blue at.
Looks great for people who don’t know how to feed raw. Since I don’t buy "dog food", I wouldn’t shop there.
A well balanced diet is the best for all dog breeds.
As more people understand the importance of nutrition to their own health, they’re starting to consider what’s in their dog’s food bowl as well. Food manufacturers are only too happy to oblige, and the latest products are likely to be labeled natural or organic, and include ingredients said to promote health, such as blueberries and salmon oil. That said, it can still be a challenge to sort out high-quality chow from the canine equivalent of junk food.

I’ve never looked into it, or heard of it.
HOWEVER, I do NOT call all PetSmart and PetCo foods crap. PetSmart carries Blue Buffalo, a very good quality dog food, and one I use to feed before switching to raw. And they carry Eukanuba’s new wild line, I forget what it is called. Very expensive, but from the ingredients listed it is also a premium quality dog food, one that I would consider feeding IF I few dry kibble. Purina One? HA… that is thrown down their junk aisle along with Iams and Beneful.
And PetCo sells Diamond, another really good dog food.
I would be interested to see what brands this "unleashed" store carries before judging. They mention organic, hollistic, and raw foods. Prepackaged raw diets specifically designed for dogs are CRAP. They are OVERPRICED, usually full of supplements, and just plain crap. I’ll go to the store and buy a whole chicken, thank you very much.
