I have a Weimaraner. They are prone to bloat so I don’t want to take any chances with weird ingredients. I have been feeding her Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul. Just wanted other’s opinions on what the best holistic dog food is without being outrageously expensive.

Nutro Ultra is a great holistic food. It’s packed with "super foods" to help with her immune system, healthy heart, brain function, vision, hips & joints, etc. Also, Nutro does not use ground yellow corn, which is a filler and big allergen among dogs. They don’t use by-products (heads, feet, intestines). And there are no artificial colors or flavors. It has high levels of essential fatty acids to help keep your dog’s skin and coat healthy. And it’s 100% guaranteed!
Did you hear that these natural/organic pet food is untested and unregulated? and is KILLLING pets around the world?

If bloat is your concern, then simply make sure they rest after eating rather than run around. Just a few minutes nothing major. you can google "how to make your own dog food" and get a billion answers.
Canidae is a decent quality food that won’t break the bank. I feed Innova to my dogs, but I will admit it is sort of pricey. I pay about $58/33lbs bag. Canidae comes in around $45/30lbs.
if you have the time and if you really love your dog, you should feed homemade food made out of organic stuff to your lil buddy
here is a great link i found out on homemade complete nutrition dog food recipies

I assume you’ve heard the phrase you get what you PAY FOR. (It is fairly true regarding foods.) Often, you feed less of the more $$ brands than you do of the cheaper stuff. In many cases, they no-grain foods are healthier ( lower rates of cancer) since they have more meat and less or no cheap grain filler per bag. Grain is raised with pesticides sprayed on it & absorbed into it. And grain is thought by at least some people (including Whole Dog Journal and myself) to be part of the bloat problem. (You see, dogs were born a carnivore, not an omnivore, but feeding them cheap grain is what we’ve started doing in the last 60 years & the cases of bloat have sky-rocketed.) The cases are far less, where more people are feeding a raw diet (aka BARF) like in Australia.
Short of doing your own home-made raw diet, I suggest you look for a grain-free food. Grains are hard for dogs to digest (the number one food-based allergy) and very inflammatory. Their system was set up to digest meat and bones in 4 hours, but grain-based kibble takes 12 hour to digest and their stomach
